A new chapter for European electromobility. The French company Verkor has inaugurated its first Gigafactory for battery cells in Dunkirk. With the commissioning of this production site, Europe marks a decisive turning point in its quest to secure technological sovereignty in battery production.

The location is developing into one of the leading hubs for battery systems in Europe. Clear milestones in permits, foundation laying, and the setup of production units are bringing capacity within reach. Verkor is committed to greater independence in European lithium-ion and solid-state battery production while simultaneously strengthening safety, sustainability, and innovation along the entire value chain. This path not only supports European industrial capacity but also secures jobs and promotes local expertise.

In cooperation with its customers, Häuslschmid GmbH is supporting the Dunkirk project in reinforcement construction as a supplier of snake spacers (Unterstützungsschlangen). It is important to note that our snake spacers are not delivered directly to the construction project, but go to our customers and specialized partner companies that implement the foundation work safely and reliably on-site.

We are proud to be part of this significant project. Our snake spacers help ensure a smooth construction and installation phase and create a stable infrastructure on-site for the upcoming production lines.
